About Me

My name is Gretchen Stephens, and I am serving as the Pathways Coach for OMS & OHS this year. The Pathways Coach is responsible for educating students in the areas of college & career awareness. I am excited to work alongside students as they make important plans for their futures!

I attended Tennessee Tech University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science (Multidisciplinary Studies) in 1996, and a Master of Arts (Instructional Leadership) in 2000.

I have been in education for 27 years, having taught first, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades.  I've also worked as an assistant principal, data specialist, and RtI Coordinator.  This is my sixth year at Oneida, and I love being part of the Indian Tribe!

I have two daughters, Clari-Jane and Annalise Newman.  Clari-Jane is a senior at Alice Lloyd College, majoring in English, Communication, & Theatre Arts.  Annalise is a sophomore at Roane State Community College, majoring in Allied Health Science.

In my free time, I worship at the Helenwood Baptist Church.  I enjoy reading, biking, traveling with my family, and playing with my great nieces Ariah & Adley.
