My name is David Blevins.  I am married to Rebecca Blevins and have 3 children: Rory, RaeLynne, and Davin.  I will be teaching 8th grade Social Studies.  I have been teaching since 2013 and am looking forward to another great year.  I graduated from Oneida High School in 1995 and continued to progress my education at Roane State Community College (Associate's Degree), Tennessee Wesleyan College (Bachelor's Degree), and The University of the Cumberlands (Master's Degree).  

During this school year we will be studying the origins of the United States of America.  We will see the original colonists traversing from European nations in search of a better life.  Students will gain an understanding of the rationale for the government structure which will become United States democracy.  As a class, we will also see the development of a nation which will become one of the strongest in the world.  There are many opportunities to learn not only history, but also civics understanding, citizenship, and the complex social structures which make up our country.

I am also the the OHS Boys and Girls soccer coach.  I have been a soccer coach with AYSO for nearly 10 years and  Middle School Boys in previous years.  I also played soccer during my years at Oneida High School.  Soccer is a wonderful sport that incorporates valuable talents in endurance, strength, speed, and high-speed thinking.  I am excited to be involved Oneida's Soccer program.  I have enjoyed my time in the soccer program and anticipate another great year.
