The Oneida Middle School Beta Club is a chapter of the National Junior Beta Club, which is an organization that provides students with many opportunities. Among these opportunities are leadership roles, academics, conventions and various scholarship programs once they reach high school.
Students who are invited to OMS Beta Club will take part in various activities throughout the school year including fundraising, volunteer activities and State Junior Beta Convention, which is held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.
In order to qualify for OMS Beta Club, all students must maintain a grade of 85 or above each 9 weeks (in each class). They must complete one hour of community service per month and be in good standing with both school attendance and discipline. If a student in Beta club receives three Level 1 discipline referrals, or 1 Level 2-4 discipline referrals, the student will be dismissed. Students will also be required to turn in 2 teacher referrals.
Students will be invited to join the OMS Beta Club following their first semester of their 6th grade year if all criteria has been met.
